Today we will find this year’s finalists of the European Championships and it looks like it will be a tough battle!

If you want to see some of the best European badminton players Sydbank Arena in Kolding is the place to be this afternoon.

In Men’s singles two young Danes collide as Viktor Axelsen and Anders Antonsen meet fighting for a spot in tomorrow’s final. The other semi-final in Men’s singles also involves a Dane, Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus who is up against Rajiv Ouseph from England.

In Women’s singles the Olympic champion Carolina Marin is fighting for her third consecutive European championship title. She’s facing Mette Poulsen, who has played a great tournament and is guaranteed her first ever European medal.

The semi-finals in Men’s Double will be nothing less than the clash of the Danes!

The recent winners of Singapore Open, Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensen is trying to wring the title from their countrymen and defending champions Mads Kolding/Mads Conrad. Before a possible final between those two, Boe/Mogensen needs to defeat Mathias Christiansen/David Daugaard today whereas Kolding/Conrad are up against yet another Danish pair, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup.

Danish Christinna Pedersen is defending champion in both Women’s doubles and Mixed doubles and she is of course looking to regain both titles.

In Women’s doubles she and partner Kamilla Rytter Juhl are playing Chervyakova/Morozova from Russia for a spot in tomorrow’s final.

In Mixed doubles Christinna Pedersen is playing with Joachim Fischer, and when Fischer steps on to the court in a big tournament there’s a guarantee for entertainment – especially for the crowd! Today they are up against Irish Sam and Chloe Magee who has played a great tournament so far.

The other semi-final in Mixed doubles is between Chris and Gabrielle Adcock and Audrey Fontaine/Ronan Labar from France. The French quite surprisingly defeated Mathias Christiansen/Sara Thygesen yesterday and today they are up for an even bigger challenge.

‘The Adcocks’ have noticed that the French are playing well, so when the left Sydbank Arena yesterday they were focused on being ready and prepared for today’s match.

- We will go analyse what we did well today and what we could have done better and then just rest, so we can recover for tomorrow and come out fighting, Chris Adcock said yesterday.

We are really looking forward to some close and intense matches today, and we hope you will come join us in Sydbank Arena!
